Splendid Cake and some new arrivals

Friday evening the bells pealed at Hanbury Church to signify the end of the blessing ceremony for Tanya and Dino Simpson and that they were on the way to the Jinney Ring restaurant for the reception party.  It was very cold so when they arrived here most of the guests hurried into to conservatory to get warm but they did appear again for some fast photos in the garden, making the most of the extra hour of daylight.

Everyone looked great, some lovely feathers in hats (almost as good as ours!).  The party was lovely with some gorgeous dancing to be seen through the windows.  The other gorgeous sight was the cake - made by Jinney Ring chef Shirley this was a triumph but we hear she did loose sleep over it trying to work out how to make it all come together.

The whole party was lovely and relaxed and everyone seem very content as they went home.

Over the weekend we had a bit more excitement with the arrival of some new ducklings.  A couple arrived from the incubator and the rest were hatched on the island and rescued (before the crows move in).  They are now having a week or so inside a warming box (with some swimming in a kitchen sink) before they come outside.

Sleepy!

Been swimming!
