Beautiful Bride Katie wanted a relaxed and fun party! |
Saturday was once again a bit on the cool side, but it was dry for bride Katie and her new husband Glen. They tied the knot in central Birmingham and arrived for their reception with us at about 5pm. As it was so cold the guests did not spend long in the gardens with us ducks (and the photographer), they made there way into the conservatory area and then into dinner. This wedding had a few "firsts" for the Jinney Ring. The best man was the son of the Glen the groom and he was the youngest best man we have seen here (about 7 year old), but he did an excellent speech - he was not even vaguely worried about talking in front of 50 people while standing on a chair! He was well rewarded with a lovely present from the bride and groom - a new bike!
There was lots going on at this wedding - early in the evening Mary Baulk entertained the children with her puppet show- she had brought along a whole host of animals which came to life in her hands. Then later on when everyone was well fed Brenda Whip arrived and got everyone up line dancing - what a hoot!.
Ye Haah -- such concentration! |
We had even more dancing over Easter, as on Monday the Wayfarers Folk Dance group came along and danced in bitter weather - they were incredibly resilient and performed 3 sets of English dances in front of the centre. Sadly most of the customers were also so cold that they did not stick around long... we hope they will come back on a warmer day.....
